Qualifications for LPY Award:
Legal Professional of the Year
A. Eligibility and Judging
1. Any member in good standing with at least ten (10) years of legal experience is eligible to be a nominee, except members of the committee, and all former recipients of the award.
2. Nominees will be judged on the following basis:
a. Fifty (50) percent: Skills and experience in the legal field, such as legal secretary, paralegal, legal assistant, court reporter, etc.
b. Forty (40) percent: Current participation in the association or has demonstrated participation in the last two years.
c. Ten (10) percent: Other activities, interests, and volunteer work.
Member of the Year
A. Eligibility and Judging
1. Any active member of NALS of Lansing whose work for the benefit of the association and participation in association activities for the previous year has been exceptionally valuable and instrumental to the furtherance of NALS of Lansing. Member of the Year Committee members are not eligible for nomination. The prior year's winner (if applicable) is also not eligible for nomination as this award may not be given to the same member two consecutive years in a row.
