EVENTS AND MEETINGS
NALS OF LANSING COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR ADVENT HOUSE MINISTRIES
When: Sunday, November 2, 2025
Time: 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Where: North Westminster Presbyterian Church on the corner of Oakland and
Martin Luther King Blvd.
Message from Judy Salminen, Community Service Committee:
After getting feedback from several members, we have decided to have a community service project on Sunday, November 2, 2025. This project will include providing and serving the afternoon meal for the patrons at Advent House Ministries. Our chapter has participated in this event many times in the past. I will work up a menu based on how many members sign up. I have attached a copy of the signup sheet. You can indicate whether you want to donate a food item, work on the day of the event (which includes prepping the service area and dishing up the food), or a combination of both tasks. There are several different opportunities for our members to be involved in this project. For those who choose to work on the 2nd, the entire process takes about 2 hours, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. It is held in the basement of North Westminster Presbyterian Church on the corner of Oakland and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
Family and friends are welcome to join us. Please put this on your calendar and if you’re available to participate, please enter your name and preferences on the form and return it to me by email. Once I have most of the responses, I’ll follow up with the menu details to choose from. If you have any suggestions in that area, please let me know. I will keep a running list of the registrations on one form, and I’ll send that out to everyone when it appears complete.
I look forward to working on this community service project in 2025. Advent House has served the members in our community for many years, and it has been a gratifying experience to provide aid in their work in this small way.
